apache errorlog shows
sh: /sendmail: No such file or directory
if I create a link in the root directory, it works fine.
There is some more output in the apache error log:
zend_hash.c(202) : Freeing 0x0887B27C (20 bytes),
script=/home/mail/htdocs/horde/imp/status.php3
zend_API.c(219) : Freeing 0x0881DBE4 (48 bytes),
script=/home/mail/htdocs/horde/imp/status.php3
zend_API.c(208) : Actual location (location was relayed)
zend_hash.c(202) : Freeing 0x08755004 (20 bytes),
script=/home/mail/htdocs/horde/imp/status.php3
zend_API.c(219) : Freeing 0x08718304 (48 bytes),
script=/home/mail/htdocs/horde/imp/status.php3
...
is this ok? If so, I want to switch off this output, how?
Thanx

It won't show up if you don't have preferences configured (in
horde/config/horde.php).

No, there isn't.

Are you sure that the sendmail path is right in your configuration?

This indicates a problem with your version of PHP.

You have extra whitespace in horde.php3 somewhere - look after the closing ?>
tag.
