Dear chuck,
Thank you for responding so quickly, but I still have a problem: my hosting
provider doesn't allow me to install another version than 2.0.11 .
Could you please provide me with some tips to make sure that chinese text is
shown instead of the ASCII codes?
Thanks in advance,
Marco

when I do this manually (translate the *.lang files in the locale/en folder,
for example from english to simplified chinese) some pages are displayed
correctly in simplified chinese but other pages show the ascii codes.
