How to get imp login name in .php

Hi all:
I am a newer in php,now i want to write a script to
got the IMP Login name ,after IMP login in.
If the test file called horde/imp/getuser.php

Q1: which files should be include first.
Q2: A few days ago,i used 
    $imp = &$HTTP_SESSION_VARS['imp'];
    $username=$imp['user'];

    that's worked,but recently not,anybody knows why ?
