first user on imp

Hi,
what do you use to administrate your imap server under mandrake 8.1 : I've
got horde 2.0 well configured and imp3.0 that I would want to try but I
can't login as it seems login/password are verified by imp in the imap data
and as I don't know how to update it....

If someone knows some tutorials or detailed information to begin with imp
(not the installation part in php) but with the administration : what to do
to get the first user in order to try it,
