Try looking at horde/lib/Auth/imap.php to see if there's anything
obviously different than the connection routines in IMP (which
are in imp/lib/IMP.php).

Also, try using IMP to authenticate the Horde session.

I'm afraid I'm too swamped at the moment to investigate this
further myself.
