[imp]   shows in From column ??

I have seen this too, with an old Courier-imap.

Using OutLook Express I didn't even see these mails.
In my case it only happend when the To: header contained some kind of
special charater, and the header wasn't properly encoded. (fx. Hotmail
dosn't encode theyr headers).

This is fixed in the new version of courier-imap.
