disabling compose functions

Hi, how can I disable all the compose functions? I've edited some templates
and removed the compose, reply, forward etc. but the links of the emails to
compose functions is the one I cant remove.

I must have missed something.  How do I get a button on the INBOX page
which takes me to a menu to allow users to change things like their from
address?
