Server displays only first 4 messages

Have 'diskless' servers on shared filesystem and was working fine
until....  Replaced HORDE/IMP server with new box, duplicated
installation, and all tests OK... except can only see first 4 messages
in INBOX or ANY folder.

Facts:
	Apache 1.3
	PHP4
	Freebsd 4.5
	Horde 1.2.4
	IMP (not sure.. Sept 2001)

Umm.. help
