[imp] how does SORTARRIVAL work?

i have uw imap-2001a compiled into php 4.1.1.  used
the imap driver in horde.
$conf['auth']['driver'] = 'imap';

for access to qpopper pop3 server:
$conf['auth']['params']['protocol'] = 'pop3';
$conf['auth']['params']['port'] = '110';

since it is a pop3 server, i dont have folders, etc.,
but everything else other than the sort order works
great.
