The test folders which I have created both by hand and with IMP - unicode
characters, etc. - are readable both by IMP and Mozilla Mail. Test with pine;
if pine produces the same behavior that IMP does, which I'm guessing it will,
then the problem is in c-client and that's what needs to be fixed. There's no
way we can rely on the mbstring extension and expect all of our users to have
it compiled in at this point...

Subject: problem with gettext
hello
I use imp and horde (last cvs releng) on a solaris 8
I install gnu gettext
I recompile the mo file (with the gnu msgfmt)
all is ok
I tried :
setenv LANG fr_FR
setenv TEXTDOMAINDIR=./locale
gettext horde "help"
then anwser is "aide"
when I use php to translate a text, I have no translation :<?php
putenv('LANG=fr_FR');
// Specify location of translation tables
bindtextdomain('horde', './locale');
// Choose domain
textdomain('horde');
// Print the already tested message
echo _("Help");
echo '<br />';
// this should print the same.
print(gettext("Help"));
the translate run on the shell but not with php functions !
I compile php with the options :
'./configure' '--with-apxs=/usr/ssl-apache/bin/apxs'
'--with-config-file-path=/usr/ssl-apache/conf'
'--enable-versionning' '--with-mysql'
'--enable-ftp' '--with-gd' '--enable-bcmath'
'--disable-debug' '--enable-memory-limit=yes'
'--enable-track-vars' '--with-imap=../imap-2000c/'
'--with-gettext=/usr/local'
there is no problem during the compilation and the phpinfo is good :
GetText Support enable
somebody has an idea or perhaps an doc about the install of an solaris8
bye

That's what the namespace value should be for.
