[imp] IMP 3.0 Slow as Hell!!!

I have my own Two PIII 600Mgz, 512ram. Running Linux 5.2. IMP is installed
on the same computer.
It takes me about 20 minutes to see the first page of emails. Is there a
setting in IMP that would let me
specify how many messages to load? I was comparing IMP to Hotmail and Yahoo
email. It seems to me that
Yahoo and HTL load only one page of messages at a time and when you click
next it loads next chunk of messages.
Can this be done with IMP?
