I use PHP Accelerator: http://www.php-accelerator.co.uk/ and I find it to
make a dramatic difference to most PHP scripts; the different to IMP however
is not so great (although noticable here) because it relies on the speed of
the IMAP server.  It's worth an install though because it takes only a few
minutes to do assuming there is a binary for your OS.  APC Cache made my
scripts slower, although that's supposed to be a problem with the CVS
version (which if you have PHP 4.1.2 - and you should).

PHP Accelerator is great though.  Heartily recommend it.
