Which method from the library to apply for login?

Hello,

as you can see at http://nachricht.de/imp_phpnuke.jpg i have "married" (ok, 
let's say affianced until finished) the imp-Webmailer to the PHPNuke 
Webportal-System. Almost everything works fine, but I've got stuck with 
some questions:

Which methods from horde:: and imp:: Librarys have to be applied with 
Username and Password that Horde/IMP recognizes one to be logged in? I'd 
like to add these routines to the login (and logout) Routines of PHP-Nuke 
in order to get a single-sign-on for that system.

I found some information on the horde-Webserver in the Documentation of the 
API, where the API is desscribed very detailed, but there is no description 
of the Login-Process itself (what happenes, what is needed) - or i did not 
find it.
