Hi,
      I'm trying to use Horde/Imp with Mandrake 8.2. I've used previous
version of both Mandrake and Horde/Imp successfully before but I have a
problem with this combination. Full description is Mandrake 8.2 /Apache
1.3.23/php4.1.2. cyrus 2.1.4 (cyrus-sasl 2.1.2). I'm trying plaintext
authorisation which works with Netscape Messenger/Outlook 2000 etc.

The output from test.php look like this :-

Horde Versions

    * Horde: 2.1
    * IMP: 3.1 (run IMP tests)
    * Turba: 1.1

    PHP Version

    * View phpinfo() screen
    * PHP Version: 4.1.2
    * PHP Major Version: 4.1
    * PHP Minor Version: 2
    * PHP Version Classification: release
    * You are running a supported version of PHP.

    PHP Module Capabilities

    * FTP Support: Yes
    * Gettext Support: Yes
    * IMAP Support: Yes
    * LDAP Support: Yes
    * MCAL Support: No
    * Mcrypt Support: No
    * MySQL Support: Yes
    * PostgreSQL Support: Yes
    * XML Support: Yes

      Miscellaneous PHP Settings

    * short_open_tag enabled: Yes
    * magic_quotes_runtime set to Off: Yes
    * file_uploads enabled: Yes

   PHP Sessions

  PEAR

  * PEAR - Yes
  * Recent PEAR - Yes
  * Mail::RFC822 - Yes
  * Log - Yes
  * DB - Yes

I have tested the IMAP support and it connect correctly showing an accurate count of mail messages.

Now to the problem, when trying to login to horde or imp the login screen is redisplayed and nothing else. If an incorrect user/password combination
is supplied then the login is rejected
correctly. The syslog shows only a connect from the address of the webserver.

Possible aids to diagnosing the problem are that no icons are displayed on the horde login screen although the appropriate entry in horde.php 'menu'
'images' is set to true.
No entries in /tmp/horde even with the highest debug level set is another pointer.

I suspect the mod_php4 as built by Mandrake in their distribution but would welcome any other suggestions or diagnostic input.

I have scanned the archive lists but have yet to find any matching problems.

Any help appreciated as I spent nearly two days on this now....

Regards

Dave Williams
