OK, I have in options to send deleted items to trash folder. This trash folder is called trash, and I've verified that it still exists. When I clicked the "Empty Trash" button, it emptied my INBOX and left the contents of trash unchanged :( I've verified this by clicking the "Empty Trash" button again, this time it came back and said "folder INBOX is already empty". YIKES!!! -mike
