[imp] problems with courier-imap and horde

Hello.
I just installed horde 2.1 and imp 3.1, and i got the following problems with 
the local courier-imap 1.4.2 server

- impossible to use another protocol as imap/notls to connect, even if the 
server is censed to accept SSL and TLS according to kmail imap probing 
facilitiy
BTW, i tested with both standard imap port (143) and secure imap port (993) 
with same result

- impossible to list personnal subdirs
i used INBOX. for both folders and namespace variable, i also checked 
allow-subdirs is OK in configuration. However, i don't understand what 
subscribing preference has to do with subdirs, as told in FAQ.
Also, i wonder about show_dotfiles variable in conf.php that is questionable, 
as mail subdirs with courier-imap use a .<name> folders scheme.

Last question about security: i guess only way to secure imp by itself is to 
run it via https, and so is totaly foreign to horde/imp configuration ?
