That's correct, there is no recent rpm out (yet) for php so you should ge from
the source.

Before you do that, remove your current versions of PHP, as mentioned by Eric
(if you are new to the list, my advice would be 'allways listen when Eric is
talking') you hve concurrent versions of php, and that's a bad thing.

So remove all you rpm's of PHP, go the php.net, get the latest version, and
install it.

When installing, make sure to add the needed options to the ./configure.

You'll need at least --with-imap and --with-mysql (or postgresql) for the
preference container, --with-ldap if you plan to use it --with-apxs and so on.
