[imp] unable to set sender to user@domain.xxx

I need some help. I installed IMP 3.1 and Horde 2.1 in a web server using
Apache and Debian 3.0. The imap and smtp server is in another machine.
Almost everithing worked well, I can receive emails, but when I tried to
send I got the follow mensage: unable to set sender to user@domain.xxx where
user is my login for example.

I will apreciate some help to solve this.
