[imp] aspell and php

I've gone through all the archives, and I find loads of people who had the
same problem, but no real solution.

I have aspell installed on my system and runs fine from the command line.
IMP on any spelling check comes back - Spell check complete - No spelling errors
yet there are mistakes.

the rights for aspell are no different then for any other of the modules I
use which are working fine. I have tried all kinds of combination for the
path to aspell, none of which make any difference.

Could somebody maybe help me with a couple lines of php code that I could
insert anywhere... even say in motd.php that would print out the help
information that aspell gives with the -? switch or alike. just to prove
what the return is, or the error. then I would be sure to see what the
return is for the user with associated rights.
