[imp] Virtual Domains Question

Let me start by saying that I am new to IMP and do not know PHP.
I have checked the FAQ.

I am running IMP 3.1.

We have a virtual domain setup, and run IMP on it's own server.  Users
go to https://webmail.dom.ain/ and login using user@virtual.dom.ain.
This works fine except for the from field.  I want to set the from
to what the specify in the login (eg user@virtual.dom.ain).

I'm sure this is easy for someone familiar with IMP and PHP.  Can
someone tell me how to do this or where to look?
