[imp] Folders unable to be deleted

I've run into a problem with users deleting folders outside of IMP.  Either 
using pine or netscape mail if deleting a folder then going back into Imp to 
view their folders the ones they deleted outside of IMP are still there and 
can't be deleted.  There is no error message displayed when trying to remove 
them from IMP.
Has anyone else run into a similar problem or have a solution?  Thanks.
