[imp] setting session timeouts

Hi,
I've read the FAQ and this is mentioned in it, but I still don't understand how
to set the session timeout for IMP. I would like to set the session timeout, or
auto-logout a person after 7 minutes of idle time. Do I set that in php.ini?
Would it be session.gc_maxlifetime = 1440? Should I set that to 420?
