[imp] Problem when compiling wv-0.7.2

Hi,
When I confiure/compile wv-0.7.2 on Solaris 2.8, I obtained the
following errors:
     ./configure
    loading cache ./config.cache
    checking for Cygwin environment... no
    checking for mingw32 environment... no
    checking for executable suffix... configure: error: installation or
configuration problem: compiler cannot create executables.

Pls advise on solving the problem.
