I thought the same thing, so (as a test), I made the file world readable. I even
chown'ed it to apache:apache, but still got the error.

Because I don't know anything about S/MIME, I don't know how to troubleshoot it
or how to ask intelligent questions; hence my request for pointers to
documentation (rather than ask stupid questions :-).

I'll continue my quest for knowledge; thanks for responding!
