[imp] SMTP reject problems

Hello,

Using IMP 3.1/Sendmail 8.12.7 on a Solaris 9 box I wanted to know how does
IMP handle SMTP rejects ?

Currently I have a little problem where SMTP rejects are not handled
properly. I am using MIMEDefang with my Sendmail installation and when
someone sends a virus the mail gets rejected. So for example when I try to
sendmail a mail from IMP which has a virus as attachement the mail won't
get through and I will get the following error message:

There was an error sending your message: unable to send data

But then the IMP compose window still stays open and if I click on Send
Message again the message goes through but will be quarantined. From
MIMEDefang I've heard that it shouldn't go through if I click a second time
on Send Message. Any ideas ?
