And these are the good ones :) Ancient decrepit version of Novell 
GroupWise which have absolutely no idea what MIME is, TFS Secure 
Messaging, whatever that is, and some astoundingly bad clients that are 
too embarrassed to announce themselves are amongst the problems I face 
with running a mailing list that is largely UK Local Government focused, 
so I can empathise with Richard here. Trying to force decade old 
groupware solutions, with no funding for upgrading, to gateway to the 
Internet seems to be at the heart of the problem.

In certain areas UUEncode is not uncommon, and there is that thing about 
being liberal in what you accept ;)
