Actually, it's not a horde problem either. It's a problem with PHP 
4.3.0's zlib extension:

     http://cvs.php.net/co.php/php4/ext/zlib/zlib.c?login=2&r=1.153.2.4

It looks like the most recent version of that file that will work with 
the 4.3.0 release is 1.153.2.5.
