[imp] new user can't login through imp in the first time?

i have installed qmail+ldap(openldap)+hordde+imp;


when i add a user,i must telnet localhost 110/143,and login with
username&password.after doing that,i can login in through imp.

i want to use the username/password  right away through imp after add them.
who can tell me what i should do?
