[imp] abnormal FQDN

Dear Experts,
I have configured IMP 3.0 with horde 2.0 hosted on
mail.example.com on Intranet Network. I ma facing it
has 
when my users send their mail to local users they have
to type in TO fields TO: "user1 at mail.example.com"
when any user i.e a local intranet user of or a user
on Internet (i.e. if this mail is sent on Yahoo) will
recieve this message saying that message if 
From:"user1 at example.com.example.com."
Kindly help me tracing out the problem.
