[imp] Password not regconised

Dear All,

One of our users discovered the following discrepancy:
When login on NT (Chinese version) using Netscape 7.0 through port 80. 
The user discovered that the imp had no response(no error or erro 
rmessages). He remained in the login page. However when the user login 
through https, he had no problem in using imp. Th user's password was 14 
characters long.

The user then changed the password to 8 characters, he had no problem to 
login on both Chinese and English. Pls advise on solving the problem.
