[imp] imp 3.2 php 4.3.1 problem

could somebody please help with the following.
i'm not sure if this is a bug in PEAR or in IMP.

imp isn't showing the contents of folder on the cyrus IMAP server.
it does show the folders but no contents.
when i send myself an email and go to the inbox in imp
it shows it
when i click refresh it doesn't show it anymore.ever.
yet the email is indeed still on the IMAP server.
I think i posted this with version 3.1 and a CVS upgrade fixed it or i downgraded php...anyway can't remember what it was.
so can anyone help?
do i have to downgrade something or what?
