[imp] various imp troubles

i've been having a string of strange problems with imp that i can't seem to get
to the bottom of.

if anyone has any ideas for what's causing these and a direction where to look,
any help would be great:

- sometimes when deleting through messages, clicking "delete" takes me back to
the mailbox view with an error message "error viewing message" or similar. going
back into the message and retrying starts working again without problems. this
is so random, i can't even start to debug it.
- sometimes, imp will not purge cancelled emails from a mailbox if i am on the
last page of the mailbox. if i move to another page it purges ok, and then will
continue purging fine again from the last page too for the next few hours.
- when there is no new mail and i just logged in, the mailbox title is
INBOX_newmail_popup=1, and no emails are shown even though the inbox does have
50+ emails, but i can't seem to find what is causing this. as soon as anything
else is clicked inbox goes back to normal.

logs are not showing anything unusual. could be also nothing related to imp. no
idea yet.

so if anyone has a tip, that would be great!
