Maybe not the best way, but this will work if you use imp for your login:

Make a copy of "/horde/imp/templates/login.inc" first in case you have to 
revert to it.  Then edit "login.inc".
Find the line that contains "Welcome to" and change it to something much 
simpler, like so:

<?php printf(_("Welcome to %s"), ($registry->getM etc, etc....

change to:

Welcome to mycompany.com webmail

Note, not php tags or anything, just text.
If logging in through horde, I imagine something similar is possible in the 
corresponding horde template directory.
