[imp] Files attachments get corrupted ?

We have :
Horde version 2.2
IMP v. 3.2
Php 4.2.2
Apache 2.0.40
Qmail, Vpopmail.

When we send *.doc or Excel files as attachments, the files somehow get
corrupted and become unreadable.

Opening the message in Outlook Express we have a copy of the message (size
0) and another the correct size. The attachment can't be opened.

I have successfully sent a WordPad file (RTF format) but not the formats we
use (Word and Excel).
