Hm.  php-4.2.3/NEWS has

- Fixed a build issue in the IMAP extension under IRIX. (kalowsky)
- Fixed a bug in imap_last_error() (Jani)

and when I diff the tarball I do find significant changes in the IMAP
extension code, including the php_imap_parse_address function that Crispin
mentioned.  Well, I guess it's back to 4.2.2 or forward to 4.3.x then.
