Hello everyone,

Im embarrased to say Ive just joined the list through necessity .. :( IMP is
a good product and have been very pleased with it, despite its limited
feature set.

Alas now, I find myself in a bit of a situation. My server which had IMP
(think it might even be version IMP 2.1 or 2.2) installed as part of the PSA
(plesk v2) control panel, has now crashed
(due to a kernal corruption) and I am in the middle of bringing the orignal
drive back online as a second drive and doing a restore of the original
unconfigured server build as our primary boot drive. This means I now should
have access to the original data inorder to do a sort of recovery.

So assuming I CAN access the original server data on the second disk, what
Id like to do is either;

a) restore IMP mail accounts (and more importantly the emails therein) by
copying over files from the second drive to the first to bring IMP back into
the land of the living
or
b) access the original emails and extract the email using a textpad etc, so
I can pull out vital email addresses and phone numbers (no one uses Outlook
to store a local copy:( ). Probably the simpler option but more cut and
paste effort.

If IMP uses a mySQL db then I need to work out how to recover that as well.
(Backups are a bit thin on the ground.)

Could anyone give me a pointer or three?

Sorry for this cry for help, but I would really appreciate a helping hand in
a time of desparate need !!!

Many thanks....

J.
