Sounds like the same problem I had. If I remember, I went to the PEAR site
(pear.php.net) and followed the instructions for installing it. It was
pretty easy, because PEAR has its own package manager; I think the
PEAR_smtp package was the one giving me trouble. The PEAR gurus on this
list may be able to help you more.
