In my tests against even lame clients like QuickMail for Macintosh, my
complete patch works OK with them as well, and even though they're a bit
clueless with the reply charset headers, IMP handles them just fine.

What do you say, Jan?  Maybe at least mention the capability in a FAQ or
offer a provisional patch to HORDE/IMP?

I expect the other Western European charsets would need to use ISO-8859-15
rather than ISO-8859-2, etc.

It's 2003, and most of Europe's been using the € for what, two years now? :)
 Maybe our favourite email program can actually allow a European user to
enter the symbol of their currency?
