Looks like it's been like this for weeks if not months, eh?
Any way someone can get a login to report bugs there?
(like asking a human)

Bingo. That did it. Thanks. Is it anywhere in the docs/FAQs?  If  yes,
that has escaped me. Looks like a fresh install of PHP sets  this  one
to "on" by default.
