[imp] fetchmail configuration

I understand the HEAD horde/imp has a fetchmail type functionality as well.
How do I configure it to fetch my mail from my ISP, i.e. in a config file
somewhere? I use fetchmail from cron, but it would be great to be able to
force a fetch via IMP. Or is this not what the fetchmail functionality is
for?
 
I've tried specifying my POP3 details under the Accounts "button" screen,
but when clicking Fetch, it just hangs IMP...
