[imp] access to IMP w/o a horde generated login screen

Hi, I've been following the this tread as it very much applies to the
scenerio I've been attempting to realize.  I have horde configured to
authenticate via a modified http.php with the following credentials:
$_SERVER['REMOTE_USER'] and $_SERVER['KERBEROS_AUTH'].

This yields a couple of different oddities in Horde.

First off , and least of my worries, is that the Main interface for Horde
opens with the portal only and does not display the menu system.  If I edit the
URL from portal.php to index.php it usually works fine.

Secondly when I click on the Mail link for IMP, I'm still presented with a
login box with the username already populated.  IMP is configured to not
used the server list.  There is only one server configured in servers.php
and the hordeauth is set to 'full'(I've tried this with true as well with
similar results).

Any suggestions or assistance would be oh so very much appreciated.
