[imp] strange imap issues

Hi,

I have currently setup up a horde 2.2.4 and imp 3.2.2 installation that
uses courier imap 2.1.2.
Creating and deleting folders, moving massages between them, all works
just fine. But if I try to access these folders with an external mail
program (i tried evolution) they don't get displayed. If on the other
hand I create subfolders with the external mail program they all get
displayed in imp. 

is there a reason for this strange behavior?
