[imp] Not your typical Solaris attachment problem.....

Greetings,
I'm running imp-3.2.2 with php-4.3.3, horde-2.2.4, apache-2.0.47 and
wu-imap-2002e on a unix box with Solaris 8.
In addition to imp, I also have turba-1.2.1, mnemo-1.1, nag-1.1 &
kronolith-1.1.
Virtually everything works fine, *except* if someone tries to send an email
with an attachment to an addressee in the same domain as the mail server.
There are no problems whatsoever with attachments so long as the recipient
is not in our
local domain. I've searched many of the archives and have not found this
particular attachment-related problem, though I've found many others. I'm
using /var/tmp as my upload_tmp_dir, and my upload_max_filesize is set to
50M.
I'm not low on disk space, and no errors are being logged. Also, the
composition window displays the standard "attachment succeeded" message. I
can see the attachment in /var/tmp as a file with an impatt* naming
convention, yet it never actually gets *attached* to the email. A side
effect of this is that the attachments never appear in my "sent-mail"
emails, whether they succeed or not.
The last thing is that none of the attachments are ever cleaned out of
/var/tmp, regardless of recipient destination.
If anyone here can provide some guidance as to how to further debug and/or
resolve this problem, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mike
