[imp] IMP and GPG encryption?

I was wondering if there was any sort of module for IMP (official or 
unnofficial) that would allow GPG encryption of email messages.  I'd like to 
be able to use GPG to encrypt my email, and it would be great if it was easily 
integrated into the IMP message composition.  I notice in the FAQ that there's 
a mention of optionally using PHP's mcrypt, for more secure encryption.  What 
sort of encryption does the installation of mcrypt provide?

I've done php programming in the past, but never on something the size or 
scale of IMP... so I'm not sure if I'd be qualified to add something like what 
I'm asking, but I might be willing to give it a try.  Does anybody have any 
suggestions or guidlines as to what the best way to implement something like 
GPG support would be? (if someone hasn't done it already..)
