[imp] Vacation Help

I need to add an alias to the vacation command set up in the .forward
created by the Horde vacation module.  What I would like to do is to create
the line below automatically when the user sets up their vacation message.
For some reason if the alias is not present the reply message never gets
sent out

\username,  "|/usr/local/bin/vacation -a firstname.lastname username"

I am very much a newbie wrt php so please be gentle
