[imp] Unicode or Chinese?

Horde version: 2.2.4
IMP version: 3.2.2

They are installed by my hosting company.
The plan I subscribed is a VDS plan which I have root access to the linux 
box.

I tried to send a email through Lotus Notes client.
And then try to view it in IMP.
I found the Chinese characters becomes ?? at both Subject and the Body.

Is it possible to configure IMP to render Chinese properly?
Make it support Unicode would be perfect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
