Yes, but apachectl is AFAIK only a script, too which can be changed. Or
if really needed, one could make a wrapper script around it, that
should be not more than 5 lines of shell script.

But that's truely not the Perfect Solution (tm)... Without a developer
helping on the mmcache side, there will be no fix for this, only
workarounds....

I'm curious, if mmcache development will be continued when it comes to
PHP 5.
