[imp] Transferring Mail from IMP

Hi Everyone,
 
I'm new to this list so please bear with me. 
 
I currently have IMP running on a Vserver and am in the process
of migrating to a new hosting account. Is there anyway that I can
export my mail files? I have FTP access to the server and have been
able to copy the mail files to my local hard drive..are these in a
proprietary
format, or can these be reimported by some other means.
 
Any help would be appreciated.
