Dear All

Wish to ask for advice and help pls. It seems that Internet Explorer
cannot wiew some attachments from Horde IMP Webmail [We deployed the Horde
IMP version 3.2.5 Final - http://mail.iinet.net.au]. One of the filetypes
Internet Explorer has trouble viewing is PDF. When attempting to View a
PDF file, Internet Explorer reports an error similar to:

Internet Explorer cannot download c41e8feb0ed16779a12155a149b6ae52...

There are also reports that Internet Explorer believes attachments to be
PHP files. When attempts to "view" the attachment, IE believes it is a
'view.php' [file type: Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX] file and there
is no external view assigned for .php file.

Both reports have been replicated with Internet Explorer only. Mozilla
and other browsers are not affected, and the Download link for the
attachment works for all browsers.

The issue appears to be that IMP is compressing the PDF on the way out,
and IE does not cope with both compressed content and external viewers.
Tested by commenting out compression entirely, and also by excluding
viewed attachments from gzipping, and it works.

Problem is, if we patch the code, it will cause issues if/when we upgrade
IMP. Would anyone in the list experience the similar problem? Is there any
fixes for this particular issue? Please help. Thanks heaps in advance.

Kind Regards

Fernando
