[imp] mime attachments

So i have this email that has an image attached to it. On one of my
installations, i can see the attachment (it shows up as an
application/octet-stream and also an image in the attachment box), but on my
main installation i can only get "There are no parts that can be displayed
inline." I have even go so far as to completely copy the horde and pear trees
from my development computer over to production, but with only limited success.
Does anyone have an idea where to look for something like this?

I also saw a thread about changing the html inline mime drivers to true, which i
have also done... but still no go :(
